主要从事植物资源评价与利用研究:(1)木本油料植物油茶和油橄榄的种质资源评价、优良品种选育、高产栽培关键技术及产品开发;(2)天然产物的分离纯化、结构鉴定及生物活性评价。

承担研究生课程《高级植物学》、《植物学研究进展》。
承担本科生课程《植物生物学》、《生命科学概论》。

指导毕业博士研究生5人、硕士研究生27人,目前在读博士3人、在读硕士7人。
◆我的团队
本人是“油茶生物学及资源利用”研究团队的负责人,团队成员8人。运用细胞遗传学、物种生物学、分子生物学和生物信息学等理论技术,深入开展西南地区特用植物资源的收集保存、遗传评价和种质筛选,发掘有价值的基因资源;开展天然产物的分离纯化、结构鉴定和生物活性评价,建立了细胞和线虫活性评价试验平台;开展油茶和油橄榄种质资源收集评价、品种选育、种苗繁育、高产栽培技术及产品研发,建成了国内资源最全的油茶和油橄榄种质资源圃。近5年,本团队获国家自然科学基金3项,其他国家级和部省级项目30余项,总经费800万元,获四川省科技进步一等奖、二等奖、三等奖各1项,发表论文125篇,其中SCI收录90余篇,审/认定新品种7个,推广应用面积达50万亩。
